Breakfast was pretty delicious today. I made chia seed porridge with hemp protein, cinnamon, flax seed oil, blueberries, pecans and maple syrup. Nice and filling for my long day ahead! I had uni where we had to bring in an object that we liked and talk about it. For me it was crystals; I love that the Earth creates such beautiful things! I also worked a bit on my blog as I really want to give it time this year and see what creatively it turns into.
I am amazed that from just two days of staying on track; eating clean, getting my body moving and generally taking responsibility for looking after myself, how much I have realised! One of my realisations being that if you focus on each day one by one, instead of focussing solely on weekly/monthly/yearly ideals, then you give yourself the chance to make that one day really amazing and fulfilling. And if you live every day like that then over the course of a month or year you will have lived to your highest potential therefore feeling happy and fulfilled. I think now more then ever, in this society of constant demand and era of technology we have to train ourselves to slow down, ground ourselves and re-evaluate what is important for us as individuals in order to take care of ourselves and achieve our goals and dreams. A day is a manageable amount of time and we can do these things. Just by being present in each moment we give ourselves the opportunity to make decisions that reflect what we truly want.
I was so excited for this evening because a couple of friends and I had signed up to one of Nike's heavily booked-out free training sessions. It was hard work but so rewarding! We ran, in the cold and dark, to the park where for an hour a Nike trainer got us working-out like athletes by the river Thames. It is funny because I remember walking past these types of training groups and part of me would shudder and be comfortable with the fact I was cosy and going home to chill and another part of me would be ignited with a surge to be out there sweating and pushing myself. Therefore being on the other side of actually doing it and not just wishing I was, was... well pretty great. I felt empowered and strong and now I am super inspired to get fit and healthy! I think what is key, is the more you do what you feel inspired to do - what comes from your gut, the more you are inspired to keep doing it. Often I think we look outside of ourselves for inspiration and fulfilment but we just need to listen to ourselves and then JUST DO IT! Hehe see what I did there. So, at the end of the day I got the train home and realised I was not prepared how hungry I would be after training (this training thing is all new to me!) so I grabbed some Moma muesli and yoghurt raisins which I did not think about when I got them but had sugar in them. Strangely because I have been eating healthy good fresh food, I was actually a bit repulsed by the sugar. So I suppose it is a good thing because my body is adjusting to the natural foods I am eating and next time I feel a craving for something sweet I will remember something made with processed sugar would not be as enjoyable as a healthy treat!
